ABS Plastics And Its Uses

ABS formally know as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, is a thermoplastic and terpolymer.

What are its properties?

The composition of these chains that make up ABS means ABS is an extremely tough and impact resistant material. Due to these beneficial properties this means that the production of ABS is often more expensive to produce than other plastics.

The Styrene element of ABS gives the plastic great rigidity and a shiny and attractive surface whilst Butadiene, being a synthetic rubber, gives the plastic its shock resistance. Due to this ABS is commonly used for a variety of applications including pipe systems, as created by Rayda Plastics.
