Recent research has shown that protein Albumin – found in eggs has many uses within the plastics industry.

This recent discovery of the antibacterial property found in the protein Albumin has its potential uses in the following bioplastics.

Medical Industry – Wound dressings, catheter tubes and so on.

Food Industry –Food Bags, food packaging. This is particularly useful when this protein is combined with plasticiser such as glycerol making it difficult for bacteria to survive.
