European PVC Industry Recycles Over 500,000 tonnes

The European PVC industry of sustainable development programme announced that it recycled over 500,000 tonnes of polyvinyl chloride in 2015.

The results were revealed in Vienna in front of 130 stakeholders, from government bodies, United Nations, European Commission, designers and architects from across the plastics industry.

Other things highlighted was that this year, any products made from virgin PVC resin would no longer contain lead, if made by European converters and addressing the issue of additives in recycled polyvinyl chloride.

After the event, many were encouraged about the future of polyvinyl chloride being a material that offers a number of benefits for the society that can also help serve people’s needs.
