Plastic Extrusion – A brief Introduction

Plastic extrusion is a process by which plastics and other materials are pushed through dies to create desired shapes. Piping, tubes and profiles are commonly created through the extrusion process. The products created can be tailored to individual requests for example plastic extrusions can be created in a variety of lengths, a variety of colours and differing rigidities. This makes our extrusions bespoke to our customer’s specification.

Plastic extrusion can also involve co-extrusion, a process used to create an extrusion with multiple layers. For example the extruded product might have two different layers of plastic varying in thickness and rigidity.Plastic extrusion is therefore commonly used for products like piping, guttering and so on.
